1. Do you have any pets* right now? If so, what are they?
I have two cats, Mira and Vega. Mira is a fluffball, and Vega is a rude boy.
2. Why do you have pets? Or why not? Or why do you have the pets you do, and not some other kind of pet?
I have pets because it's nice having something warm and fluffy to snuggle up to, and because it provides a certain structure to life when you have something relying on you for its survival. Also because I grew up with cats and know them to be not just fluffy but highly amusing. We also had fish and gerbils, and they're not nearly as fun. And I loathe dogs. They're the yobs of the pet world.
3. You have fallen into an alternate universe where you are required by law to get a new pet. From the animals that are commonly kept as pets (cats, dogs, gerbils, pigs, sugar gliders, etc.), what would you choose, and why?
I'd get another cat. I keep telling ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) jaq that three cats is the ideal number. Or ten. One of those. If I wasn't allowed to get another cat, I'd get a pig. People say they're smart, and they're kind of cute with their oinking. Plus they eat scraps.
4. You have fallen into an alternate universe where you are required by law to get a new pet. From the animals that are *not* commonly kept as pets (dolphins, elephants, unicorns, etc.), what would you choose, and why?
Well, if we're into the imaginary animals, I'll have a luckdragon, please.
5. You're being reincarnated as a pet, and you get to choose which kind. From the animals that are commonly kept as pets, what do you choose, and why?
Again, I'd be a cat. Even though it would mean eating meat cereal on someone else's schedule. I'd get to be quick, be able to climb things, I'd find out what purring feels like on the inside and what the different tail motions are supposed to mean. And I'd get to spend my days lying around instead of going to work.
*Fun as it might be, and regardless of the labels or identities you may have in your kinky relationships, for the purposes of this discussion, human beings don't count as "pets".

I keep coming up with perfect gifts for people I don't know well enough to give gifts to. It is annoying.
